Current Work

The Shape of Release is my ongoing series exploring the tension between containment and expansion through paintings of everyday domestic objects and elements of nature. Familiar forms gradually shift, stretch, and break beyond their boundaries, suggesting a quiet resistance to imposed limits. Moving between the recognisable and the surreal, the works use subtle gestures and spatial tension to evoke states of growth, unease, and transformation—inviting reflection on what is held, and what escapes.

Part of this body of work will be exhibited at Laughing Fox Café, Emerald, as part of the PAVED Festival (Performing And Visual Arts in Emerald & District) 2026, a celebration of community arts and creativity in the Eastern Dandenong Ranges.

Early Work / Art School Themes

During my formal studies, my practice spanned painting, video, and installation. These works interrogated the relationship between fiction and everyday life, interiors and exteriors. They also explored the indeterminate nature of perception and memory, using immersive and layered approaches to invite viewers to question what is familiar, imagined, or remembered.
